Course Curriculum: 

Day 1: Introduction to Floristry Basics

Morning Session:

1. Introduction to Floral Design
   • Understand the principles of floral design: balance, proportion, harmony, rhythm, and emphasis.
   • Discussion on the importance of color theory and how it applies to floral arrangements.
   • Introduction essential floristry tools and their usage
2. Sourcing & Prepping Flowers
   • Discussion on how to source your flowers in London and the UK, select fresh and long-lasting blooms, and manage your budgets
   • Understand the technique of conditioning the stems and work together on prepping the foliage before arranging

Afternoon Session:

1. Basic Floral Arrangements Workshop - Hand-tied Bouquets
   • Learn how to create a hand-tied bouquet using the spiral technique and how to wrap a bouquet
   • Hands-on: It’s your turn to experiment with different flower combinations and learn the basics of creating balanced compositions
2. Basic Floral Arranging Workshop - Vase Arranging
   • Introduce and demonstrate different methods of arranging flowers in vase, how to create balanced compositions
   • Hands-on: It’s your turn to give it a go and arrange you masterpiece in vases, and you can bring your creation home!

Day 2: Natural Floral Pillar & Hanging Installation With Sustainable Methods

1. Morning Session: Hanging Floral Installations

   • Discover how to design stunning hanging displays using foam-free and sustainable mechanics.
   • Learn techniques to achieve balance and stability without compromising on style or sustainability.
   • Adapt your designs to different event spaces, from minimalistic modern venues to whimsical outdoor settings.

2. Afternoon Session: Floral Pillars

   • Master the art of creating lush floral pillars that serve as focal points for any occasion.
   • Use sustainable techniques to build strong, eco-friendly structures.
   • Work with modern, simple arrangements or embrace a whimsical, garden-inspired style for show-stopping designs.
   • Ensure your pillars harmonize with various event themes while maintaining an organic and natural aesthetic.

Day 3: Wedding Flowers Mastery

Morning Session:

1. Wedding Floral Design Concepts
   • Learn the theory of selecting the perfect flowers, foliage, and accents to achieve the desired aesthetic and complement the bride's wedding theme
   • Showcasing the commonly requested floral arrangements at weddings
2. Wedding Florist Portfolio Building
   • Understand the role of a wedding florist, from initial consultation to event execution.
   • Learn how to present your ideas, tips for creating your wedding portfolio and insights into pricing, sourcing flowers, and managing wedding-day logistics
3. Flower Conditioning: After the theory demonstration, we'll condition the flowers together learning the essential techniques to prepare and care for fresh blooms.

Afternoon Session:

Wedding Floristry Hands-on Workshop - Make Your Own Bridal Bouquets & Buttonhole & Flower Crown

• Explore a variety of popular bridal bouquet shapes, including cascading, round, hand-tied, etc.
• Lead you through a step-by-step demonstration, showcasing the techniques and principles behind creating beautiful bridal bouquets including tightening the bouquet in a bridal ribbon
• Master wiring and binding techniques to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
• Put your skills to the test with hands-on practice sessions, where you'll have the opportunity to create your bridal bouquet & buttonhole under the guidance of our instructors

Day 4: Large Scale Floral Installation

Morning Session:

1. Table Scape Design
   • Master the art of table layout and composition, including the arrangement of tableware, linens, centerpieces, and place settings
   • Explore a variety of decor elements and accessories, including candles, vases, napkin treatments, and personalized details. Learn how to incorporate these elements strategically to enhance the overall look and feel of the tablescape
2. Intermediate Floral Arranging Workshop - Table Scape Creating
   • Put your newfound knowledge into practice with hands-on exercises and live demonstrations and create a beautiful wedding table design with centerpiece flowers, different vases, and accessories

Afternoon Session:

Large Wedding Centrepiece Design:

• Learn how to create breathtaking floral centerpieces that serve as the focal point of the wedding.
• Work in a group to create breathtaking focal pieces that are the heart of any wedding decor. Whether it’s a grand head table, a dramatic entrance arrangement, or an unforgettable ceremony backdrop, you’ll learn how to craft centerpieces that captivate and elevate wedding venues.
• Master floral mechanics including using foam-free structures, grids, and sustainable supports

Closing Remarks and Q&A

• • Take photographs with your finishing works ( & I’ll take photos for you and your creations!)
  • Recap of key learnings from the course & open forum for participants to ask questions and seek further advice

Take Home:

• You can take home your beautiful creations with seasonal flowers including bouquets, vase arrangements, buttonholes, and flower crowns
• We provide course handouts that include concepts of wedding design and arrangement, tips for portfolio building, and templates for wedding proposal
• We can provide digital certificate for you after completing the 4-day Intensive Floristry Career Course

Tools Needed:

We'll provide fresh flowers, foliage, vases and arranging tools during the class. However, please bring your own apron, working gloves, a note and pen if you would like to take notes, your own drinking water bottle, and a grocery bag to take your creations home.

Time: 10:30am to 3:30pm each day, with 40 minutes lunch break, please bring your own lunch and arrive 10 minutes before the class.

Cancellation Policy: Please note that due to the nature of floristry, workshops and courses cannot be canceled or refunded unless under unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters. For participants unable to attend and wish to reschedule, please notify us at least 7 days before the scheduled workshop date. We will gladly assist you in rescheduling for another date of the same workshop or provide you with credit to book an alternative workshop on our site.
